Here is an overview of the internal workings of the agency and the roles of various departments

Registry

The Registry of the College is vested with the responsibility of coordinating various departments/units of the College to ensure efficiency and optimal performance. The Registry is headed by the Registrar who is the Chief Administrator of the College and statutorily the Secretary to Council, Academic Board and Convocation, finance and General Purpose Committee as well as other committees established by Council. The Registrar reports to the Provost on the day-to-day administration of the College.

The Registry has come of age, as it has recorded milestone achievements since inception. It is made up of well-structured and functional departments/units as component parts with key responsibilities. To ensure efficiency, these units/departments are headed by seasoned administrators who are responsible to the Registrar. Importantly, the Registrar coordinates the activities of all administrative staff in the College.

The Registry’s vision as articulated by the Registrar, Mr. Z. O. Jayeola  is “to be part of a dynamic and resourceful Management, leading a team of well-educated administrators who are highly motivated and endowed with integrity, honesty and transparency”.

Bursary

The Bursary in its current form is managed by seasoned professional accountants whose varied experiences include investment, public sector accounting and finance, taxation and tax management, systems processes and reviews, financial management and cost efficiency.

The key activities of the Bursary are performed through the Bursar's Office and the Directoratee.

Library

The Library as integral part of the College owes its history from the growth and development of its parent institution. The library offers information needs for students, lecturers, researchers, and practicing professionals within its institutional composition.

The current status of the institution as a College of Nursing and Midwifery behoves that there is a library catering for information needs of students, lecturers and other practitioners within the clusters/units/departments of the College. Library contributions to the college development cannot be over emphasized. The library has been able to provide conducive environment to students and staff of the college. Presently the library is fixed with air conditioners which were installed to make the place cool and comfortable. The library collections have grown and are still growing to the extent that new collections are being acquired while obsolete books are being weeded out from time to time. As part of the global shift from hard copy information prints to electronic- based information, the library is planning to subscribe to a number of electronics data bases consisting journals, monographs and reports to supplement the existing e-books in the library.

The College Library is located in a bungalow building adjacent to the Administrative Block of the College. It is organized into following departments namely: (i) General administration, (ii) Collection Development/ Acquisition Department (iii) Technical Services Department (iv) Reader Services (Lending) Department, (v) Reference/ ICT Department (vi) E- Library Clusters.

Works Department

The College Works and Maintenance Department came into existence with the assumption of duty of Engr. Akinbowale Adigun Olawoyin in June, 2015.

Engr. Olawoyin is a COREN registered, and FUTA trained Engineer with then over a decade working Experience as a Civil Engineer with Oyo State government put in place virile Works Department.

Nursing

Basic General Nursing

This is a three year (3) programme commencing from October, 2020, after which candidates will be presented for both the College and the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) Final Qualifying Examinations to qualify as General Nurses and be eligible for registration with NMCN as Registered Nurses (RN).

Requirements

Applicant must:

  1. Possess WAEC/SSCE/GCE or NECO with at least five (5) credits (at not more than two (2) sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology;
  2. Only individuals with required credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings from the same examination body may apply. He or she should be at least Seventeen (17) years old on admission.

Midwifery

Post Basic Midwifery

This is eighteen (18) months programme commencing from September, 2020

Requirements

Applicant must:

  1. Possess WAEC/SSCE/GCE or NECO with at least five (5) credits (at not more than two (2) sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology;
  2. Be a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria. Applicants awaiting the result of Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria Examination may also apply

The School Of Basic Midwifery, Kishi, Irepo Local Government

The programme is for three years after which candidates will be presented for the College and Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (N&MCN) Final Qualifying Examinations to qualify and be eligible for registration with N&MCN as Registered Midwives (RM).

Requirements

Applicant must:

  1. Possess WAEC/SSCE/GCE or NECO/SSCE/GCE with at least five (5) credits (at not more than two (2) sittings) in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology;
  2. Only individual with required credit passes at not more than two (2) sittings from the same examination body may apply. He or she should be at least Seventeen (17) years old on admission.

Programmes In The College

There are supposed to be six (6) programmes as stipulated in the Law which established the College. They are:

  1. Basic Sciences
  2. Basic General Nursing
  • Post Basic Midwifery
  1. Public Health Nursing
  2. Mental Health Nursing
  3. Family Health Nursing

However, the College presently runs two (2) of the programme stated above which are:

  1. Basic General Nursing; and
  2. Post Basic Midwifery
